Made in Middlesex is an internal-facing campaign launched in Q2 2017 targeted at the university community (on-campus and alumni) to instil a sense of pride and belonging in the institution. Celebrating our exceptional achievers, the first eight heroes selected were a range of eminent staff, successful alumni and the most promising students.
This ongoing campaign was launched with fanfare at an interactive event on campus with engagement on channels for internal audiences such as the staff intranet, Facebook groups, Twitter, Yammer and alumni lists. The showcase allowed staff, students and alumni to learn more about and take pride in the successes of their peers and they also have the opportunity to share stories of their journey through the university and how they have been inspired themselves.
To date, around 75% of staff had engaged with the campaign and 130 story contributions have been received, to be fleshed out into featured content after in-depth personal interviews. The success of this campaign will be built upon in the upcoming 140-year anniversary celebrations.
